Previous Projects

The pseudosphere, a hyperbolic cone. The tip should extend to infinity, but I didn't have enough yarn.

An euglena, with two (scientifically inaccurate) eyespots.

A complete collection of the subatomic particles (from left to right): neutron, proton, electron.

Meeting Mon. 3/10

Hello!

Thanks for coming to the last meeting! We will meet next Monday (Mar. 10) during lunch, again in Mr. Elliott's room (S204). For those who came last time, you will continue working (and hopefully, finish) your protons. For those who could not make it last time, you can come to this meeting to start your own plushies. Keep in mind that most projects probably require more than one lunch period, so please continue to come to the meetings if you are interested in completing a plushie of your own.

If you did not start projects during the last meeting, please email us at stringtheorysjs@gmail.com by Sunday afternoon with whatever plushie AND color you want to make:
Plushies:
a. E.coli
b. proton
c. quark (any of the 6 flavors)
d. other (please state what "other" might entail)
Colors:
a. sky blue
b. teal
c. pink
d. pale yellow
e. purple
f. lime-green

Gracias!

Meeting Friday 2/7/14 Canceled

Hello!

Thanks for coming to the first meeting! Sorry for the inconvenience and late notice, but due to the SAMC meeting and choral-orchestral rehearsal conflicts, the String Theory meeting tomorrow at lunch, Friday 2/7, is canceled. Although the last two attempts to meet and make plushies did not work, we will try again to set up a future meeting that will accommodate most people's schedules. Please stay tuned for an email for further details about the next meeting. If any of you have conflicts on certain days next week, just let us know so that we can try to schedule around them.

We also want to know what project you all would be interested in doing in our next lunch meeting. Keep in mind that most projects probably require more than one lunch period, so please continue to come to the meetings if you are interested in completing a plushie of your own.

Here are the websites to spark inspiration:

Below are some examples our projects so that you have an idea of what you can expect to make:

E. coli checking out St. John's School

Vielen Dank! (Many thanks!)
